About the Speaker

Dr. Ellis is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.   She did her general pathology residency and two post graduate fellowships in medical renal pathology and genitourinary pathology, all at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and school of medicine.  She is a proud alumnus of Howard University where she was an award-winning athlete on the volleyball team.  Fun fact:  she was inducted into the Howard University Athletics Hall of Fame and her jersey is currently retired there in the Burr gymnasium!   Dr. Ellis is now the director of wellness, diversity and inclusion and the associate director of the renal pathology service at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  She serves as the treasurer of the renal pathology society and the past chair of the training committee.  Dr. Ellis has a passion for teaching residents and fellows, especially in her beloved subspecialties.
